11 Months Old

 

You are 11 months now, and it won't be long before we are having your first birthday party.
You are coming along in leaps and bounds now, standing alone, clapping, sounding sounds, walking along the furniture, pointing, saying mama, dada, trying to feed yourself with a spoon (although you get most of it on the floor/chair/table/mommy!!!

you love reading books with Kyle or with mom and dad, and you love the books with animals and the different textures. We bought you a book like that this weekend and you are so clever, you actually point to the animals when Mommy makes the sound of that animal. I couldn't believe it.

You love being on the back of moms bike, and riding all along the common and the coastline - altho you are still not used to the helmet, and hate anything on your head.... But it must be worn, so i'm hoping you get used to it soon. today you threw your sun hat out the pram on the way to Kyle's school for family lunch. thankfully we found it on the way home.

It is lovely weather lately, and we are taking advantage of it. You love strawberry picking - we have been twice now. you love to pick the strawberry, take a bite and then throw it down!! Then you're onto the next one. Kyle made the mistake of sitting next to you with the tub of already picked strawberries. Your eyes nearly popped out of your head... you were taking them out of there so fast, that both Kyle and me couldn't fill it fast enough!!

You are such a happy little boy. everyone that meets you comments on how happy you are. You have the bluest eyes, and the cutest smile. It's difficult not to spend hours watching you.

It won't be long before you are walking. The stair gates are up now, and your favourite past time is re-programming the TV!!! you pick up the remote and point it at the telly, and the other day when your thomas song stopped playing on the computer, you reached for the mouse to put it back on!!! Brilliant!!

You had your first Tea Cake on the weekend. Not sure where you got more.. in your tum or round your mouth!!! I think the latter.

First Haircut - 10 months

 

Almost 10 months!

Where is the time going?? You are growing and developing so fast it's difficult to keep up. You are waving bye bye... saying DADA, putting out your arm and opening closing your hand for things that you want, you are crawling, pulling yourself up, and occasionally let go and stand on your own.
You love bopping to music, and we go to baby groups four times a week, which you love. When we start singing the songs from the play group, you have the biggest smile on your face!
Oh and you have 6 teeth now with what looks like two more on the way!!
You are still waking through the night, but that's ok.. it's a good excuse for cuddles, because during the day you are a real fidget bum, and just want to be put down so your can crawl, explore and discover!
Your favourite thing at the moment are the cat cubes!!! it's a mad race to the cat bowl everytime we put you down to get it up out of reach before you get there.
You are learning the word NO and are very good when it comes to pulling the plants over... when mommy says NO, you give me the biggest cheekiest grin, and try your luck again. So again I say NO, and then off you buster!!!
Daddy has taught you to hand something over when he says TA, and you are very good at doing this!!
You still have those piercing blue eyes, they are just gorgeous and everyone who sees you comments on them.

8 Months Old.... Where is the time going?

 

Jennys Birthday Party

You enjoyed your first birthday party... Playing in the ball pond, and munching on party food, you gave everyone your normal big friendly smiles, and had lots of fun..... This was the weekend that you slept through the night... from 22h30 until 6am!!! Mommy of course was up checking that you were still breathing from 04h30!!!

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I was a Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on - Pooped on - Spit on - Chewed on, or Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests...or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.
Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

ANOTHER tooth!!

Ok.. we now are thinking we will serve steak at your first birthday party!!! Your teeth are coming through fast!! that's a total of five now.. and two more look set to appear shortly!!
You have taken to biting everything, and everyone!!!

Fourth tooth arrives

33 weeks, another tooth, and you are growing toooo fast!! our likkle boy is almost 8 months old.. you are 9kg's and 72cm's long!! You are growling, chatting, bouncing like a champ in your bouncer, and just itching to get going!! You can now go from sitting to almost all fours.. just the one leg gets left behind, and sometimes causes you to nose dive the floor... another reason we have had to get the camper cot out to sit you in with all your toys, as leaving you on the floor padded with pillows is no longer an option!

Another tooth!!

First top tooth arrived.. that makes three now!! You look like Nanny Mcphee when you smile.. it's sooo cute, and you love to chomp down on mommy's chin - but it's alot more painful now! You are enjoying eating solid food, and mommy mushes up whatever we are eating and you eat with us too. You thoroughly enjoyed spaghetti bolognaise for the first time, and kept sucking your lips in like a fish, making slurping noises... I think that means you liked it??!?

7 months today!!

Where has the time gone?? Look at you and your brother!! You both spend lots of time giggling and laughing and playing together.. it is fantastic to sit and watch the two of you. Our Gorgeous gorgeous boys!!!

31 Weeks

You are so vocal lately... between you and your brother we hardly get a word in!!! You have the cutest little growl too, and you seem to do it constantly. you have the nickname "smiley" as you are constantly smiling!!! You are itching to get moving, and when we sit you down you are on your tummy raring to go within no time at all!!!

First Snow!

You had your first experience of snow. You weren't sure what to make of it when we collected some in a tuppaware for you to play with, and spent ages studying it. You love being out and about in your pushchair, and we were so envious of you all snuggled up in your pushchair when we went for a walk across the common.... you seemed to love it to, and fell into a deep sleep....

30 Weeks...and growing up!
